UN International Day For Biodiversity 22nd May

The United Nations has a special day on  the 22nd of May 22nd, to celebrate this incredible variety of life. It's called International Day for Biological Diversity! On this day, we learn how to protect all the creatures and plants that share our world. We can plant a garden to attract butterflies, build a birdhouse for feathered friends, or even just pick up rubbish to keep our environment clean.

Remember, every small action helps! So next time you're outside, take a close look and see how many amazing things you can discover. Have a happy Biodiversity Day!

WDC Competencies

The WDC Competencies for Learning

The WDC Competencies for Learning focus on the essential skills that students need to thrive in today's world. We call them the 6 C's: creativity, communication, collaboration, citizenship, critical thinking skills, and character. By developing these competencies, students will be able to think creatively, express themselves effectively, work well with others, be responsible citizens, think critically, and possess strong character.

Empower your learners with our new competencies website. This platform is designed to help educators foster essential skills in their learners, from critical thinking and problem-solving to collaboration and communication. With a wealth of resources, guides and exemplars, the website will support you every step of the way as you guide your learners on their learning journey.

1+2 Languages Website

This site features suite of advice, frameworks and resources to support working within the recommendations of the 1+2 Languages Policy.

WDC Greenspace Website

Take a look at the brilliant Greenspace website. It’s a space to learn more about the WDC Greenspace team and how we can support people to enjoy all our natural spaces, either within your school grounds or further afield in one of the parks or woodland areas. It highlights the different areas available for visits and the types of support available and also links to some really good resources for outdoor learning from a variety of external providers.
